The Sri Sathya Sai Prashanthi Nilayam Railway Station.

In the year 2000, Sai Baba had a new railway station built and at the same time a complete network of railway lines was constructed. A connection was made with the most nearby station of Dharmavaram. This station is found 40 km outside Puttaparthi and is a halt on the connection Bombay - Bangalore Broad Gauge. To make this possible, a tunnel was dug right through a mountain. The station not only looks beautiful, Baba has personally made sure that all necessary facilities are available for the passengers. In the beautiful entrance hall a number of ticket offices are located, and we find a buffet on the first floor. On top of that, there is a waiting area with tables and chairs on the platform, where passengers can take five. Sai Baba has also given special thought to the disabled passengers. A sufficient number of wheel chairs are available and there is a room with two beds on the platform where disabled people can rest before going on their journey.
There are now daily connections to Bangalore and via Dharmavaram one can now travel to Bombay and New Delhi.
